Irene Dunne is one of my biggest inspirations, and the fact that through her career she was able to stay married to her first husband is touching, she was not only gorgeous and mesmerizing on stage and in movies but she also was a strong willed woman who loved to give. Here are some of my favorite shots of her.

Irene and Cary Grant co star as a soon to be divorced couple in The Awful Truth.
Now I must check out some of her films! Thanks so much for featuring her!
ReplyDeleteAlso- I too love it when a marriage lasts through stardom or success. There is something extremely touching about people seeing the "better" instead of the "for worse" part of the vows :0)
No thank you and you are so right, Anne Dunne's marriage is such a funny story. She didnt even really want to marry her husband at first but I guess it was meant to be!

Oh, I LOVE Irene Dunne!!! Isn't she a magnificent actress? The Awful Truth is one of my favorite movies. I love when she pretends to be Cary Grant's sister and nearly ruins his chances with his rich fiancee...
