Two's company, three's a triangle but "Four's a Crowd!"

This weekend was amazing, though my life is pretty much a crazy amusement park under construction right now. We are moving to Texas June 29th so there is so much to do and so many people to see before we leave, plus packing!! Then there is the fact that I am incredibly nervous to be moving since I am born and raised in California and I have never even visited Texas and I am moving there in less than 3 weeks.

The highlight of my weekend though was the stunning gifts I received out of the blue which I will have pictures and descriptions of tomorrow. There were some real draining points of my weekend like drinking a bit to much on a Sunday ehhhh being at work Monday morning with a hangover. Also lately my life has been full of really crazy angry people taking there anger out on me. Luckily I have great friends who are not crazy and was able to celebrate with them on Saturday and on Sunday.

Luckily before we went to the BBQ Sunday turner classic came to my rescue to cheer me up with Fours a Crowd. Of course the costumes are incomparable and Errol Flynn like always is some gorgeous eye candy. I think my heart skips a beat when he says anything, actually he doesn't even have to speak. Hmmmm maybe its his moustache that does it. "It isn't what they say about you, it's what they whisper." "I felt like an impostor, taking all that money for reciting ten or twelve lines of nonsense a day." These are two of my favorite Errol Flynn quotes, I think he really thought about what he said that way he was always dapper no matter if he was on or off camera.

Patrick Knowles, Rosalind Russell, Olivia de Havilland, Errol Flynn promo shot 1938

Olivia de Havilland- Her sultry look, perfect finger waves, that dress and those gloves just flawless! Here is an entry where The Mysterious Life of the Metropolitan Housewife makes adorable pin curls and even has a link to a tutorial. Rosalind Russell- Her soft eyes and face, and just look at her hair, it kind of resembles a full around happy pompadour. The Bobby Pin Blog has a great tutorial on this hairstyle which can be found here.

  1. I love Rosalind Russell! I just watched her in His Girl Friday the other day. Good luck with your move!

  3. =)I'm a shoeoholic, I know where to look. I have too much spare time, and loads of daily reads.
And Google is your friend =)

  4. I wanted to watch the Errol Flynn movies this weekend, but things got to hectic. GREAT pics!

PS: You're moving away from the West coast, too??? Wow, it's sort of nice to know I am not alone in my state of moving-related zaniness. All the best to you with regards to your move!!!

  5. Yes I am, thank you so much!

  6. Oh I do love Rosalind Russell! One of my favourite ladies of film. Thanks for posting the link to the hair tutorial - I'll have to try that one out! Good luck with the big move! :)

  7. Where in Texas are you moving? I recently migrated from Austin, TX (born and raised!) to Santa Barbara. I think I'm the odd one out... I keep hearing about people from California moving to Texas! ;)

  8. I am moving to San Antonio! Yea its crazy alot of people are moving out there.

  9. Thanks for your comment on my blog! San Antonio is a pretty cool place, only about an hour and a half south of Austin. :) Awesome about your bf's job. Seems like the job market/economy in Texas is faring better than California. Very hot weather! Best of luck to you both!
